Vacation Pensacola Beach

We had a great time on our first family vacation to the beach. The boys had so much fun. They were really good. Nate was very nervous of the ocean and would not go near it but fortunately he loved the beach since it's like a giant sand box. Collin had no fear and ran right in. We had lots of fun soaking up the sun. The weather could not have been better. We collected lots of seashells and saw lots of ocean wildlife. We have pictures of the dolphins and sting rays, but we also saw jellyfish and sand crabs and lots of fish. The jellyfish were only around one morning and they were really big so they were easy to avoid. We spent most of our mornings at the beach and after nap time it was time for the pool. Nate and Collin both love the pool. It was the perfect vacation and hope to make it back next year.

Isn't this picture funny?? Nate lined up with the birds.

Sand chairs

We took the ferry over to the boardwalk for dinner one evening.

We met another family with boys about the same age. Here they are looking for fish.

Story time after a long day of fun in the sun.

As we were packing up to leave a storm was coming in.

Pirate Nate

I was telling Penni how much the boys like dressing up in last years halloween costumes. She found this and gave it to Nate for his birthday.

Nate's 2nd B-day

We had a great day for Nate's birthday. We just had a a little family get together to celebrate. The kids enjoyed some outside time and then we had some yummy hamburgers and cake of coarse. It's hard to believe he is already two. We were thinking a lot about two years ago and his first week in this world and what a scare he gave us. It just makes me want to hold him a bit tighter sometimes. :) We went for his well check up a the doctor and he weights 30 lbs and is 35 in tall...though it might be a bit more since he really struggled to stand up straight.

This was Nate's big gift this year, a scooter. They are both loving it.

He looks like he is on a chopper :)

This is an Elmo cupcake cake.

I am not sure why we always get cakes with RED icing!!
