Christmas '09

We'll I'm a little late getting this posted but we had a great Christmas this year. We had a full house: Great Aunt Ruth, Uncle Paul and Aunt Lisa, Grandpa Paul and Grandma Lydia and Mark and Kari. We had lots of fun. It was really nice to have a white Christmas this year. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, especially Bella. She had a ball catching snowballs. The kids got way more than they needed, but Santa has a tendency to do that. I think we have every Cars toy on the market. The grown ups did a gift exchange and we had lots of laughs.

Snow in Texas

We did not see any snow while in South Dakota, so it was really crazy to wake up to a winter wonderland in our backyard our first morning back. I got the kids bundled up and they played for a while before it melted.

Thanksgiving in South Dakota

We had a great visit with Grandma Jan and Boppa this Thanksgiving. The kids had lots of fun with all the outside activities even in the cold. The kids wanted to go on an "adventure" every day. We went on lots of hikes, played at the park, explored the dinosaur museum and a dinosaur park, and had many trips to the barn to feed the cats and the horses. They both got to ride a horse for the first time. In the pictures they are riding "Kate." Collin named this horse after one of his best friends.

Collin's 4th Birthday

Collin is 4. I can't believe it. He is doing so well and we are proud of him every day. He had a great birthday. It was just family and we had burgers and cake. Both Collin and Nate are really into dinosaurs so Grandma Jan and I made a dinosaur cake for Collin. We got him a bike and that was supposed to be big surprise gift, but his favorite was a matchbox semi truck, from the movie Cars, Mack. Both boys loved it so much we went out and got one for Nate the next day to keep the peace :)

Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year. Collin was a dinosaur and Nate was a Vikings football player. Grandma Jan made the dinosaur costume. Collin was wearing it the entire week before Halloween. She also made Nate an elephant costume but he won't wear it. And it was so cute...
